Hi My name is Jeremy Newton and I am the creator of Jesus Encounter. The Vision Jesus Encounter was birthed in my head at a youth conference last year. I wanted to create a place where people could come and learn what God is doing and to also be able to talk about what God is doing in them and their church. Basically I wanted to form a community around the idea of encountering Him and then sharing our encounter so the World can encounter Him to.

In August of 2007 Jesus Encounter started as a small blog on wordpress.com and since then has grown. I constantly strive to learn more of God and learn what God is doing with the community around me. That has been what Jesus Encounter has been about is bearing witness to what God is doing. God is doing great things in our communities here in America and it involves us and the church encountering Him and then encountering our community.
That has been my main goal for Jesus Encounter is to show what he is doing, how we can grow and what God wants us to do.

Now you know a little bit about Jesus Encounter I'll let you know a little bit about myself.

Again my name is Jeremy, I'm 19 and I'm a 2007 High School Grad.

I never was really social growing up cause I was home schooled my whole life but growing up and knowing God I've changed alot.

I'm called to be a youth pastor (Which I've had years of confirmation its really crazy).

I'm a student leader at my youth group called Impact Youth.

I attend New Life Church in Sherwood Oregon and I love my church. I don't think I could be anywhere else. God has put my in the perfect church for me.

Of course I still run the Jesus Encounter blog which can be found here on the site on the navigation.

I also do all the web stuff for Jesus Encounter and Impact Youth.

I am a musician and have been playing guitar for almost 6 years. I can play bass, acoustic and some keyboards and synths.

I play on two worship teams at church. One at Impact Youth and the other I rotate weeks on the worship team at New Life Church.
