Ok I’m sure if you are into music you have heard of Slacker. If not it’s an internet radio site but its ten fold above all the rest out there. I’ve listened to yahoo music and other sites along those lines and they were ok but honestly slacker has those beating. There interface is clean and easy and there site is designed to great standards. Well I’m not here to praise slacker.

But I am going to talk about their personal music player they have launched. I’ve known it’s been around since December of ‘07 but I’ve started looking into it and am really considering picking one up. I think if any media player is going to take over Microsoft or Apple in the PMP market, slacker has got quite the chance. I think the reason I like it so much is they are doing everything different.

You get the internet radio but mobile. You sync it with your online account and it saves the stations you want onto it and then you can play them when you want.

One thing that is nice is the interface is set up exactly like it is online so you don’t have to learn a complete new interface. You have your fave this song or artist button on the side along with the don’t play this artist or song on this station again button also. One thing I liked that they did is when you buy the player they upgrade your online account so you get unlimited skips and unlimited faving of songs.

Now I’m on a mac so I can’t store my own Mp3’s on it but thats ok that’s why I have an ipod. I think the thing that I love about this so much is it’s WI-FI based. You sync it through a wireless network so you can always get new stuff if you’ve listened to all the songs the station currently had downloaded or you might want to get rid of a station and add a new one. You can do that all through your wireless network from your slacker player. A cool thing they added for the wireless feature is you can set it at night while your sleeping to connect to your wireless network and download new stuff so you can wake up to a new day full of new music. You could be out on the go and stop in at Starbucks or a friends house and you might want some new music, well no problem connect to the wireless network and you got some new stuff. With all the wireless networks out there now you can sync your player all day long.

I think the coolest thing about having a player with theses capabilities is that you are no longer having to discover new artists or staying up to date with the artists you love so you can download their new album. With slacker you are always finding new music and staying up to date to your favorite artists. Plus you can create your own stations featuring the bands you like so it will only play those bands so you can make several of your own stations with what you choose to put on your player.

The biggest plus to buying this player has to be that you no longer have to purchase or download music. It’s all free from the day you buy your player. So you constantly get music you love and music you soon will love for free. You will also find new artists that you might like also. Slacker learns what you like by your faves and dislikes and recommends songs for you and if you don’t like it you can ban it.

Well now you know why I’m so stoked. Now there’s three models of the player you can purchase.

Honestly you can beat those prices. Free music, staying up to date with new and your favorite music and a great sleek player all for a great low price. Now you know why I am considering picking one up so bad. I’ll still have my ipod so I can jump to tracks fast but right there with me is going to be my Slacker PMP.
