Ok so like I promised I’m going to talk about some ways we can fight back. The biggest source of porn and temptation is the internet cause it’s so easily available. So I’m going to show you resources and steps you can take to help you fight the net.

First thing I would deal with is if you have a problem with ads and stuff I would install an ad block. Now I would install no matter what they are really nice. I use one on my internet browser that blocks alot of stuff its really nice. It’s called ad block plus and its a plugin for Mozilla Firefox.

I suggest everyone use Firefox mainly for its plugins but it has the best internet safety out of all the web browsers i know. I’d hate to say it but it’s better than safari in my books.

Now to talk about the accountability programs. The accountability programs are awesome. You install them, enter the emails of people you wanna be accountable to and any time you look at something wrong or might be wrong it sends an email to the people you provided. Alot of the programs now actually include filters so they wont actually even allow you on to stuff so that is cool also.

First one I’m gonna mention is X3 Watch. It is provided by X3Church and they provided a basic version which is free and a pro version which is 20 dollars. You can go to the x3 watch website here. From on the site they will provide you with the download link and more information.

Now the other program I know of and all the pastors in my church have on their computers is Covenant Eyes.
It is probably the best program out their I know of but its about 88 dollars a year for one person so it can get spendy but well worth it in the end. I suggest you give both a try.

I love one of the quotes they use on the Covenants Eyes website stating why we should have an accountability program.

“I know I’ll be tempted…. I’m not addicted to porn, but every once in awhile…”

It’s so true with almost all of us. We aren’t necessarily addicted but we are tempted and that is what we are fighting here. If we can install things in place to help us not be tempted we have that much less chance of coming even close to falling into the trap.

Another thing you can do but I don’t recommend if you aren’t computer savvy is if you use a router for your internet you can log on to the router and actually block keywords and websites on the router.

Now the only down side is if anything has that keyword you entered its going to block that site. So if you typed in to block the keyword “Porn” You would probably block my site cause I have used the word or the phrase. So you have to be smart and specific when you are keyword blocking to keep you from the bad stuff.

You can also block sites on your router also. So if you know there are sites that make you fall you can block them on there also.

The last thing I want to leave you guys with is an awesome thirty day program I found online to help you get out of sexual sin. If your falling into sexual sin or you cant get out I suggest you sign up for the course. You can add the emails of those you are accountable to and they will be emailed your answers to the questions you answered on the lessons and they can help you out and pray for you also.

They have some other great ones on the site. Like dealing with homosexuality, eating disorders,substance abuse,teen purity, etc…. The list goes on and on and they all are written very well and only take about 30 minutes a day which we all have. If you don’t think you have enough time remember that this will change your life in 30 minutes a day.
