I agree.

Though personal sin is not always the reason for sickness, though original sin is.

I believe sickness has a spiritual authority behind it. Eph 6:12 shows us how organized satan’s kingdom is and the structure of authority in his kingdom…

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against authorities, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The only way to break the power of authority of satans kingdom is to use a higher authority that satan is submissive to. And that is the authority of God.

We don’t beg for release, we go by authority He has given us. We are citizens of the kingdom of God, and we have a Constitution. We don’t go to the King with emotional pleas, but by rights according to His Constitution.

Let’s all operate in this God-given authority and go and break the authority of satan over peoples body!

I have heard your comments before and have an understanding of them. But, it is difficult when sickness hits you to resolve this within ones self. We have a sinful nature. This would make us continually vulnerable to sickness. On the other hand, if I am continually walking in the grace of our Lord, I should be protected. Conflicting!!!

I have Lupus. Did not happen to me till after I became a Christian. I have come to believe that it is part of my life to stop me from moving forward in my ministry. From Satan himself. Although, God can in His grace heal me and has saved me from death, I continue to carry this illness. I find that whenever, my ministry begins to move into a more powerful place, I get attacked with stronger symptoms.

I prayer against these new symptoms and an always relieved from them, but never the entire disease. It is a thorn in my side.

Wow that is a tough one given. I’m sorry to hear about your current situation. I agree with you that alot of sickeness most ofthe time is going ot be an attack from the devil to try and take you down.

Keep holding in there. You never know how God can use what your going thru or what you have gone thru to help others.

Just keep going after Him and He’ll keep you strong.

I’ll be honest. This is something that I am not sure how I feel about (how sickness happens, and healing, etc.)

I am convinced the more I live that we live in a world that is not perfect. Because that world is not perfect, sickness, natural disasters, and can I be honest — crap will exist. There’s nothing we can do to take it away.

I’ve known plenty of great leaders who were walking with God who got illnesses, and some that even caused death. I don’t ever think that sickness is a result of something that we do. I can’t see a loving, compassionate, caring God slamming someone with sickness to teach them a lesson. That’s not the Jesus of the New Testament.

I don’t have a good explanation for why sickness happens. It sucks. I hate it. I wish I could just take it out of the world. I can’t explain why some are healed and some aren’t. I know many personally who have been hurt, because they’ve been told they weren’t healed because they didn’t have enough faith. Then people with seemingly no faith get a miracle. I don’t understand it, and the great part is, I don’t have to.

I trust in an unfailing, unwavering grace of a God who knows what He’s doing. Whenever I am in prison, and discouraged, Christ reminds me what He reminded John the Baptist of: “Jeremy, the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the wretched of the earth learn that God is on their side.”

Many times, we are limited when it comes to healing and sickness by our own prison bars. At least, John was, and I am sometimes. John was questioning something that he was certain of a number of months before. (Jesus being the Son of God)

We must, as followers of Christ, endeavor to get under those things God has put over us, and over those things that God has put under us. Be it sin, sickness, apathy, etc.

I’m doing a teaching called, “When Life & Truth Collide” and would love to share it with you at some point, Jeremy. Holler at me bro.

Blessings,
Jeremy

Jeremy….my grandmom had Lupus…I didn’t know that was what it was called. But she got healed of it- though it was gradual… It was horrible! She never took any medicine cos God had done something on the Cross about her condition.

She never complained about it. Shes a very different person… as in she spends hours and hours in His Presence interceding for others. And now she doesnt have it anymore! Hallelu Yah!

Hey Jeremy I don’t think I meant what I wrote to sound like I was saying if you get sick it’s cause your away from God. I know sickness still comes when your under his covering hey I get colds all the time. I guess the way I meant this more is that God has his protection over us and is always wanting the best for us. If sickness comes he wants to take it away.

I also am kinda iffy on the whole you didn’t get healed cause you didnt have enough faith. I’ve seen and heard of unchristian people getting healed when someone has prayed for them. If God wants to heal someone He’s going to do it. I think alot of the times with someone that has no faith in God getting healed is like God showing Him that he is there. Some people have something wrong and don’t believe there is a God cause they have it.

No matter if we are all on this earth I think everyone is gonna have different views on why God does what and why He doesnt. But as long as we are in God and doing what He wants there’s no need to question Him. He does what He does for a reason. If all Christians do is sit and complain about which way is right instead of just doing what God wants nothing would ever get done.

Thats not directed at you at all I’m just stating that in general cause I see it alot and it’s crazy.

As long as we push into God and do what He wants we wont have to worry whether or not we are doing is will.
