Well I had the pleasure of taking over youth group tonight cause my youth pastor was sick. Well I decided to talk and open discussion with what I had been blogging about and it went really well. Well I talked about the last two days and from today I have gotten some more thoughts so I thought I would add these thoughts to sum up the topic of shaking our culture.

Well at the local middle school a teacher wrote a play about bullying and hazing and stuff. Well she wrote it around what she has seen and heard and toned it down so the words weren’t so bad. Well it was going to be performed tomorrow but the school board looked into it and decided they didn’t like it and stuff and they don’t like that they used some of the words they used in the play. But what is really weird is the words are nothing compared to anything I have heard. I think its kinda sad that people kinda choose to ignore what’s going on. But thru that I started thinking back and remembered one day when I was at the school.

This girl in sixth grade came up to me and pointed out this guy across the room and asked me this questions “do you think he will be a virgin by the time he hits 8th grade?” I was shocked one that she would say that but more so that she knew about that. So I started pondering it and I realized that there is no difference anymore in our culture between 6th and 12th grade. They have a different level of education but they all know and react to the same culture. The way our culture is set up is that anyone can learn anything anywhere its really crazy and sad as a matter of fact.

It was really an eye opener to see the kind of effects our worlds culture has one this generation.

Well I had stated in a previous post that we needed to changed our culture to the Christian culture. Well its kind of hard if we don’t know what our culture is. I see alot problems people have against religion is the rules or well alot of stuff. I’ve always stated that we need to live a Christ like life and show people God thru our lives. It goes back to integrity which gives a person someone to base their life after. Thats why with leadership you need integrity so people following you can base their life’s after yours cause your mimicking God’s. Well it can take a huge toll on someone know that they need to live a life so hard after God that others can mimic them. It’s really scary but its quite true. If go out and start showing people God’s love and what he has done for us they are going to follow you and look to you to be their leader.

The coolest thing I learned is that alot of people are scared of religion cause its a set of rules and stuff so they say. Well don’t show them religion show them God. Don’t show them the Christian culture show them God’s culture. God’s culture is many things its Love,Joy,Peace,Patience,Healing,Power,Forgiveness and many others. Well I think if you show people that they are going to want it. But it requires you showing your complete self. Your going to have to discuss your short comings and show how God has helped you and show what God has done in your life. No one is just going to believe you without you showing what He has done for you before they decided they want Him also.

The last thing I would like to leave you with is something someone left in a comment that has stuck with me this week.

Jesus called those that followed him apostles but were did he get the term. Well it’s said that the romans in that time when they took over city’s they had people that they would send in to change the culture of that city. You guessed it they romans called them apostles. It was awesome to see that I don’t know why it just stuck with me so much.
