Last time we talked about vision. Well we all have vision and want to step out there’s something holding us back and/or we don’t have the ability to do so. Well I want discuss that in this post.
We all know the way the church is headed in America or atleast the church I attend atleast I know there are others also. We know that the church is starting to become passionate again. The church is becoming passionate about encountering God in the church and our lives and the church is becoming passionate about having the community around them encounter God also.
Well we all have been saying we want to see great things and to do great things through God but so far it’s just been talk. Well our youth pastor was out of town so we had one of the adult leaders preach and he made a great point and I know why the church isn’t stepping out cause of his point he made.
See we say we want to see it but deep down in each person there is something different that they are afraid of about stepping out. For me I know I’m scared of rejection or not knowing the answer when someone asks. For others it can be praying for someone and having to make reason if God didn’t touch the person in the way they were expecting. There is a reason as to why we aren’t stepping out.
See and this is where I believe in 1 Corinthians 12 it talks about the gifts of the spirit and how some have some and others don’t and how we are all a different part of the body. See if I am scared about being rejected I need to find someone in the body of Christ that isn’t and follow them. I need to know that I don’t need to have the answer cause God does and they aren’t rejecting me they are rejecting God. But I need to be around someone in the body that has the gift of encouragement cause they can help me out.
Now some have the gift of leading. You want to see people stepping out but it’s not happening. Well you have the gift of leading you need to step out and lead. If you have the gift of leading I also believe you have the organizational thought process so you can see what steps need to be taking to get what task done. You know what needs to be done and you will step out and lead with what gifts you have and will organize others with the gifts they have.
I think if we all grasp the fact that we are scared and we unite with others that aren’t and starting using the body as a whole we will be ready for change. Downside to that is we can be ready forever but the body needs to move. That’s why I believe leadership are like the legs in the body of Christ. They get the body moving so the rest of the body can do the tasks.
There’s a quote by John C. Maxwell that he talks about how if you step out and lead people will follow.
” 89% of what people learn comes through visual stimulation, 10% through audible stimulation, and 1% through other senses”.
The body of Christ isn’t going to move till people step out in the gifts they have and use them for what God intended us to use them for. When people see us stepping out they will decide to step out and use their gifts to. Not everyone has the same gifts so thats were encouragement comes in. We need to encourage people to use their gifts. We also need to tell people if we see a gift in them or something they are good at. Alot of people have trouble self evaluating themselves gift wise I know I do. It helps to have people tell you what they see in you and the capabilities they see that you have.
Well I don’t want to give you to much to chew so I’m going to leave it at that and let you chew on it for awhile. I’ll add more later and I would love to know what all of you thing.
Much Love ~ Jeremy Newton

An awesome post, Jeremy!
Amen again, having a vision is one of the most important things in our Christian life. God created us in His likeness. To be in His likeness doesnt mean He created us to look like Him, but rather He created us to function like Him. And He functions in faith. He sees things before they come to be, and He speaks what He sees and they come to pass. We, the just, shall live by faith.
We also need to be and fellowship with people who have the same vision as ours. In one of my posts called Koinonia, I had written how important it is for us to align ourselves to the vision of our local church and build each other.
Thanks for this post bro!
