Well the other night we were talking at church about something and my mind started to go to what I had been writing for camp and it fell in love with loving people like Christ would show his love for people cause it was a compassion.

Well it got me thinking about love. When you love someone the basis of knowing you are really in love is that you know if you give that person your heart that they will treat it better than you yourself would. Then it got me thinking about how some people fall in and out of love really fast, but with me I’m not that way. It takes me a long time to love anyone and to trust people(probably not the best trait to have when wanting to be a pastor), but how easy is it for us to give a person our heart cause we love them and trust them with it but that we don’t give God our heart?

No one in the world can treat our heart better than God can but it’s easy for us to give someone else and not God our heart. God wants your heart but He doesn’t not leave room for someone special to have a place in your heart or to have your heart either.

But here’s the problem with giving someone your heart out of love. If you give a someone your heart before you give it to God it’s almost impossible to give it to God afterwords or to keep God in it. But if God has your heart before this other person does then it’s alot easier to make sure God still has control of your heart.

But a common thing I see is people giving their heart up so freely and getting hurt, and it’s really hard to tell someone that they need to focus on giving their heart to God.

I remember when my cousin first started dating the girl he’s been dating he told me he was in love with her, and I thought he was crazy. I told him that I thought he was stupid for telling her that he loved her so soon into the relationship, but now I don’t. I know his heart was with God and this girl was the perfect girl to fit in his heart with God. If you can’t have both in your heart you better not take your heart from God.

Here’s something to ponder. God’s given all of us heart, he has shown his heart through Christ and has given us his word. He loves us and has given us his heart but do we love God enough to treat his heart with respect. God will treat our heart right if we love him so we should treat his heart right also.

Well I could get into alot of stuff about love and how to know if you truly love someone and stuff from just watching people but I’m not cause I want you guys to ponder this and to give me your feedback on love.

So give me your feedback on Love. It can be what it is to you, or how to know your in love. Anything about love will be awesome cause I will love to discuss it and maybe even write a series on it.

So I was trying to think about what to write about and lately I’ve just been sitting back playing guitar and worshiping God and letting Him sing over me. It’s been really comforting to just worship him and sing new lyrics to Him every time I worship Him. So what I did today was recorded what I’ve been playing so all of you can worship just with instrumental music.

I’ve learned that it’s good to just have music atleast for me cause it cuts out all the noise and thoughts in my head and I can just focus on Him and worship. So this song is called Adoration cause it’s been my worship song for the last couple days and it’s just a love song to me atleast.

My Perceptions

In this post and I think maybe the last I dont know yet I want to bring up some things I have noticed over the weeks since I’ve started reading Dan Kimballs book.

1. Our attitudes towards each other

I’ve noticed maybe cause I’ve finally opened my eyes cause of this book is how we often treat eachother as the church. We often make fun of eachother jokingly calling eachother stupid, we don’t amount to anything and many other things. Maybe I’ve finally noticed these things cause of reading this book I’ve asked God to show me areas in my life that I can be perceived in a negative way and this has shown up cause I’m just guilty as doing it. As I’ve been working to back off of it I’ve noticed that when people make comments now it actually bugs more and it never did before. Kinda strange how that works ha ha.

2. We put off as knowing all the answers

Now Dan covered this in his book but it confirmed it for me. We often act like we have all the answers. We go to tell someone about God and instead of getting to know them and discuss and love on them we disregard what they have said or show that we don’t respect them. If someone is into another religion or has questions about Christ that don’t match up with what we know we should respect them and help them, but it goes the other way if we don’t know something we need to be able to say so and read up on it and discuss it and learn with them. We will be seen better if we begin to actually show care,love and concern instead of a convert all atitude and that all our answers are right and no reason to discuss other wise.

3. This culture is ready for a role model.

I’m sure many of you heard about that murder on the public transit this week up in canada. It is shocking that murder has gotten so bad and blatant. But that isn’t my point. I know people might disagree with me cause I wasn’t in that moment but I would like to believe I would have tried to step up and help take that guy out and help the victim out.

Our young adults pastor made a good point that it sounds like the fall of Rome. That people have started getting focused on themselves that they won’t try to help someone else or risk their life for someone else’s. My thinking is I know Christ. I know if I die I’m going to Heaven. I am not certain about that victim and I would rather die trying to help save someone that will die and go to hell if it means risking my life. That is what Christ did was die for us. I’m not compairing myself to Christ but I would like to think I would do what Christ would do in that situation. I know in that situation that Christ would give me strength and I wouldn’t worry about that.

But to finish my point. Our generation is begining to become very self focused in America. We are in some area’s and some not. But our culture is in a place were we could make a huge impact if we just stepped out and loved and cared.

To wrap it up.

Dan shares at the end of his book about this pastor that was frustrated about something(I cant remember what ha ha) Oh yeah they weren’t seeing people coming into the church. So he went down to the local bar and sat down and started talking to a guy and they ended up getting on topic of church and religion and the guy told the pastor this “You know you Christians talk like your afraid of hell and it’s such a bad place but if you really believed in it you would have been in this bar a long time ago sharing the good news”.

How good of a point is that. We know so much and we know we want to step out but we don’t and people are noticing.

Well I think I might have rambled a bit but I hope you got my points ha ha.
